Subject:

Terminal section of the compensating line to the carburettor float chamber.

Affected:

All IKARUS C42 from serial no. 0109-6370 ff with carburettor heating.

Reason:

Contamination has been found in the carburettor of a IKARUS C42 B which has been

transported into the float chamber via the compensating line. This can lead to a

reduction in engine performance.

Action:

Check carburettor float chambers for contamination.

Clean compensating lines.

Removal of the burrs in the pressure pick-up tubes. Exchange of compensating

lines and pressure pick-up tubes where appropriate.

Compliance:

Inspection before next flight.

Mass and balance:

No alteration

Accomplishment instructions:

Action should be accomplished by a qualified person.

Should the defect described above occur, the aircraft is no longer airworthy and may

only be flown once the appropriate action has been undertaken to restore

airworthiness.

Do not carry out these measures near an open fire or a spark source. Smoking

prohibited!
